My name is Stephen. I'm a graduate from the BYU animation program with an emphasis in awesome . . . I mean modeling of the 3D persuasion.

Building some neon shaders.  They illuminate the scene around them  I found [this tutorial] very helpful.

Here is the latest progress on Lonnie’s Bulldog Diner.  I have some more exterior details to take care of with the diner itself, and then I’ll be taking care of the rest of the interior (though that may come last), and I’ll be starting on the outside props (signs, trash pile out back, truck, motorcycle, trees, fencing … etc.)

This is a quick side project over the past week or so. The modeling went really quickly, as did the posing, but she was a spare-time project, and unfortunately there wasn’t much spare time to spend on her. I like how she turned out, though.

She’s finished.  I’ve sent her through to render, and it will go onto my demo reel before too long (no, it will not be presented exactly like this on my reel—more likely over black or dark grey … )  I’d love to hear your thoughts.  Everything is designed, modeled, and posed by yours truly.

Got some time today to finish her model.  Will be going on to texture her, pose her, (possibly rig and animate her?) And she’ll for sure be in my reel before too long.  Cheers.
Made in Maya 2015.

Two former classmates see each other on a train. One of them is cheerful and friendly, perhaps a bit pushy. The other has a tendency to have strange, explosive anxiety attacks that terrify the people around her. This is a story about their encounter.

A short film I directed about my own experiences with social anxiety and how it affects others. Despite it being a very personal film, I wouldn’t have been able to make it without the numerous people contributing, so I recommend looking up all their names in Google and finding their blogs, because they deserve the clicks. Thanks!

This is one of the last films I worked on with the BYU Animation program.  I modeled the background.  I am super happy to have been involved in this project.

Just working on a new character.  Started on it yesterday.  I’m really liking how it’s coming along.  Still a lot of tweaking to do, but it’s well on its way.

I did some suit concepts just for kicks.  The Brazilian child made sense for the World Cup going on.  I hear it’s a big deal down there right now ;-)  lol  The little girl is my favorite, and I’ll be doing her outfit first.  We’ll see how it goes for possible others.

SO excited to go see a film that I worked on receive an Oscar! #Oscars #OWNED

I’ve posed him and it’s now on to render!  Woo hoo!
Sculpted him in ZBrush this morning from the base mesh I made in Maya.  I’ll put my reel up again once I’ve updated tonight.

Dear Cinemark,

enosledezma:

On Saturday night my parents went to see Brick Mansions at your Provo Towne Center Location.

Like me, they are avid movie goers. They go at least once a week, but it’s usually about 2-3. They watch movies several times, they have annual cups and popcorn buckets to Cinemark. We use your Cinemode…

This needs to be spread around.  This happened to a good friend’s mother.  I find it not only not fair, but incredibly stupid, heavily weighted against someone without guilt, and an error in pride.  This should not have happened.  I, too, have tried my best to attend the movies, even at that same location, but they will no longer receive my business.  I will find another movie house to attend (that is, if I go to see movies while visiting Utah).

Shameful, Cinemark.  Shameful.

Revisiting an old friend.  His name is Cai.  It was funny, so this afternoon I was cleaning out my computer and came across his obj file.  I decided he looked ugly, so I took him into ZBrush and reshaped him to make him look more appealing.  He’s coming along pretty well so far.
